At Shriners Hospitals for Children, the residents are exposed to a dedicated pediatric plastic surgery service.  The plastic surgery faculty from University of Illinois all work at the Shriners Hospitals. Many of the patients come from throughout the United States seeking because of the multidisciplinary approach to cleft and craniofacial conditions and other pediatric conditions.  The clinical and surgical experience is unique among all Shriners Hospitals as the Chicago hospital has a long established practice in pediatric plastic surgery more than four decades.
